About Yasmin

Yasmin Kowlessar, queer Trini-Canadian registered psychotherapist in Toronto

My name is Yasmin Kowlessar (they/she).

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and hold a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University in Montreal.

For over 15 years, I have focused my work on anti-oppressive therapy for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC (racialized) adults. I know what it means to hold multiple identities. I am queer and Trini-Canadian, and I bring my full self into the therapy room.

My approach is warm, open, and grounded in lived experience. I create an affirming space for clients who have been historically excluded from mental wellness services. You do not need to explain yourself here - but exploration is always welcome.

What I love about this work is watching people step out of the boxes they were never meant to fit in. I’d be honoured to help you rediscover who you are, or meet yourself for the first time. Let’s write a new story, together.

I offer sessions online across Canada and in person from my calm, bright office in Toronto’s downtown core.

All identities are welcome here.
